2 Timothy 4:1-5
It is the responsibility of the minister of God to be ready to preach the word, in season and out of season; when people want to hear it and when they don’t. The man of God must settle this in his heart, ever before he thinks of getting into the pulpit. He is not there to entertain the sheep, but rather, to reprove, rebuke and exhort, with all longsuffering and doctrine. Why? “...the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables" (2 Tim. 4:3-4).
This sermon is an exhortation all Christians alike, not to shy away from the spotlight of God’s Word, but rather to be ready to place oneself at all seasons, into the searching rays of God’s eternal truth!!
