Ezra 3:8-13
Well it’s been said, you don’t know what you’ve got until it gone. Yet even more profound is the statement, you can’t miss what you’ve never had!! Dear Brethren, I fear that we are living in a generation spiritually speaking, whose only experience of Christianity is the Christianity of today. The question is, where are the hoary headed Saints of a yesterday era who can point to a yesteryear and say what we have now is not what they had then!! How can cream be seen not to be white, unless there’s a purer white to set it against? I fear that the Christianity we now call normal would have been an insult to the great Saints of old!!
This sermon is an exhortation and a plea, for Christians not to take their ease in the accepted norm of today’s Christianity, but rather to enquire of the former age and ask how things used to be; to stand in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way and in finding it to so walk therein!!
