John 6:48-69

We’ve got to come to the realisation and acceptance (even in our comfortable 21st Century Western surroundings), that it’s not when everything is going well that our faith is refined; it’s in the fires of affliction!  It’s here where our faith is tested and refined!!  Dear soul, when you first put your hand in His and told the Lord that you would follow Him wheresoever he goes, you may not have fully realised all what that would entail.  So many make a snap decision to follow the Lord based on the prospect of good times ahead, but I seem to remember the Lord instructing us that there’s a cross to bear and he that would seek to save his life shall lose it!  Nowhere perhaps is the temptation to save one’s life more keenly felt that when found in the midst of trial—when all that can be shaken will be shaken.  We must settle this matter now and determine in our hearts that come high water or low, we’re not turning back from following the Lord!
